Add Hardware Wizard problems

In trying to add my HP 5200C Scanner via a USB connection
following an upgrade to Windows XP Professional, I get a
message saying "class (of hardware)denied" installation
to be terminated.

The 5200C was one of the first with USB connectivity, and
despite having downloaded the new updated HP Precision
Scan Software, the wizard refuses to install it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

FOr what it's worth -- the HP drivers have caused me
considerable pain with XP. Try removing any and
everything whatsoever is associated to the HP and
reinstall all new drivers before installing hardware.
