Add Hardware - cannot run two device installations

Vivien

I am using Windows XP Home edition with service pack 1.

whenever I click on Add Hardware icon, the message "Cannot
run two device installations. You can install only one
device at a time. Another device installation is underway,
when it is finished you can try this wizard again" appear,
but I have not other installations running.

Please help. Thank you

Vivien, rt click on MyComputer>Select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager.
See if there's any yellow
marks next to any of the listed devices. If yes, rt click on them and
choose Uninstall.

There is no yellow marks on any of the devices. If new
hardware is detected, it will place a yellow mark on the
device in device manager, and I can install the driver.
But there aren't any "new hardware found" message appear
whenever new device is plug in, I have to open "Device
manager" to see if there is any new hardware found.
