Rt click MyComputer>select Properties>Hardware>Device Manager>See if you
have any yellow marks next to any
Device. If so, you have to reinstall the drivers for it.

I have the same problem. It occured after I tried to install Nokia PC Suite.
I couldn't get it to work then I uninstalled it. It was after I tried to
install the data cable drivers that I discovered that I got the problem
mentioned below. I cannot access hardware manager via control panel and get
the same message. I have run several system restores and System File Checker.
Rebooted and looked in device manager for Exclaimation marks. All to no avail
please help me or I will have to reinstall windows.

Cheers Chris

I have the same problem after installing a new hard drive on my
computer. Everything looks fine. There were a few question marks in
the device manager (thanks for that fix!), but now they're all fine and
I still get the same message. I just want it to recognize a jumpdrive.
Any ideas? Thanks-Julia

I'm having a similiar but not exact problem. I've successfully installed a
hp printer but I am getting a pop-up window saying "Cannot Install This
Hardware - There was an error installing this hardware - An error occurred
during the installation of this device - The system cannot find the file
specified"

Anyone know what is going on?
