According to posts, you could do this in PPT 2000. In Ppt 2003, how does one
add a new tab to the New Presentations dialog? Or, if that's not possible,
at least display saved custom templates under the existing Presentations
tab, instead of the General tab?

Thank you.

Sorry, it's the same in 2003:
- Just add a subdirectory to the user's Templates folder, such C:\Documents
and Settings\<username>\Application Data\Microsoft\Templates\MyFolder
- Any templates saved or copied there show up.

How would you assign a custom tab to a network share?

Try adding a shortcut to the share rather than a subdirectory.

Yes, a shortcut did work, thanks.

Even better, using the WorkGroup option in Word's File Locations settings to
point to a file share. Sub folders with .pot files from there also show up
as an extra tab in the New Presentations dialog.

Aha, good idea. Thanks for that.
