Add com3 to XP

I have added com3 in the past, but for some reason it
disappears. Now, I need to have it again so my palm can
sync with my desktop (Outlook). Any ideas on how to get
com3 to show up and stay?
 
XP will show the palm as a device, but will not show com3 as having been
added.. if the Palm device is not showing at all, it is because drivers are
not correct..
