What's easiest way to add bullet points to a table of contents

Tried formatting Heading 2 with bullets but then they dont behave like
bullets e.g. they dont create a new bullets on new line, so i have to fomat
every line individually

i suspect there's an easier way

Table of Contents is defined by the TOC styles, try modifying them instead.

You are on the right track, but when you are dealing with bullets or
numbering in Word, you are entering the murky world of list-numbering
templates. You have to be very precise in how you set these up.

See: How to create numbered headings or outline numbering in your Word
document http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html.
(For bullets see
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/bullets/controlbullets.html, the subject is
related.)
