Hi all,

a newbie question: Due to my fault, I had to reinstall our Win XP Home
v5.01, "Service Pack 2" from scratch. It works :-), there are now 2 users,
User1 (that's me, the first account I created, with admin rights) and User2
(my wife, restricted rights).

Now I would like to create a third user, "admin" or "Administrator", give
him all rights, and restrict my rights on User1, to be on the safe side for
daily work. When installing new programs and admin tasks, I would use the
admin account.

* Is there anything I should be aware of before creating this administrator
account?

Thank you,

siggi

No, XP-Home does however create an administrator (restricted name you cannot
use) account with full rights, only accesable through save mode (initially
without password).
Nothing in your way to create account like "Admin" or "Boss" :-).

Thanks Rob!

Yesterday I tried to log in with <Strg>+<Alt>+<Del> in the icon menu for
logging-in as user: the simple menu appeared as should, but there is only
one user, User 2 to log in. My own account, User1, does not appear, User 1
is only accessible as icon in the default menu with the user icons. Strange!

My question: is it advisable to install programs with this Adminsitrator
account in the safe mode?
