I am thinking of buying a SATA CONNECT controller board by adaptec to use a
serial ata seagate 120gb barrucuda HD.

Are these boards any good?
My motherboard a Asus p4pe does not support SerialATA and my need for buying
a bigger hard drive is now a must. May be going down this road I can future
proof the hard drive by going serial.

any suggestions

Hey, great name. :)

In general, I find anything Adaptec is good, but then again, maybe I'm
spoiled by their SCSI products. When it comes to Serial ATA
controllers, the name I hear the most is Promise. Promise makes
controllers as well, for Serial ATA.

If it were me, I'd go with the Serial Connect product. In addition,
Adaptec drivers appear to be rock solid.
