Adaptec ACS-100 USB 2.0 Hard Drive Enclosure Kit

Have the ACS-100 kit. Installed a formatted drive. On two of my systems with
XP SP2, the USB Mass Storage Device would come up in Device Manager and then
go away. These two systems have USB 2.0 controllers. Since the Mass Storage
Device does not stay on, the external drive does not show up in Disk Drives
in Device Manager. My other system runs XP SP2 with 1.1 USB controller. On
this system, the Mass Storage Device stays listed in Device Manager and the
external drive shows up in Disk Drives in Device Manager and also in My
Computer. I called Adaptec and they said they were not supporting the
Enclosure kit. Adaptec web site does not list the Kit. Has anyone else seen
this problem with this kit? Does anyone have suggestions? My two cents guess
is that the Enclosure Kit does not like USB 2.0

More info:
I installed a 1.1 USB controller card in the pc with built-in 2.0 USB.
Connected the Enclosure kit to the 1.1 USB port and the kit works correctly.
Installed a 2.0 USB controller card in the pc with built-in 1.1 USB.
Connected the Enclosure kit to the 2.0 USB port and it does not work. Moving
the Exterenal kit to the built-in 1.1 USB port and it works OK.
Stay away from this Enclosure kit. When I talked to Adaptec, they said they
do not support the Enclosure kit and I should return it to where I bought it.
It is going back tomorrow..

Thank you for the reply. I have already returned the enclosure. I bought a
Peeze extrernal drive enclosure and it works as advertised.
