We need to connect to an Active Directory server to
authenticate to an AD Domain thru proxy 2.0 on a windows
2000 server (not enough IP addresses for everyone). Can
this be done? If so how?
At this time we receive the error: domain XXXXX not
available.

I would move up to ISA. Proxy server was meant for NT 4.0. With Proxy 2.0 MS
Proxy relies on the client computer NOT having any DNS entries. AD relies on
clients having the DNS entry for the DNS server authoritive for the zone.

ISA eliminates this catch 22.

Thanks, thats the closest I've come to a "it can't be
done". I wish I could upgrade to ISA, but I work for a
state agency, and we all know the state of state budgets.
I guess I need to research setting up a NAT server for
these guys. Thanks for the input.

Win 2k has NAT and ICS.
