I'm getting geared up for my migration from NT to AD. I have a quick design question. Here's a little background
We currently have a holding company that encompasses 3 companies on NT4 with full trusts and Exchange sites between each other. Each have their own DNS domain (i.e. domain1.com, domain2.com, domain3.com), with the holding company of holdingcompany.com.
I want to integrate the three companies into the holding company root as such
holdingcompany.com (root domain
--------- company1.com (NOT company1.holdingcompany.com
--------- company2.co
--------- company3.co
---------- ca.company3.co
Is this possible? From what I've seen and read, I can only have child domains under the root, rather than the domain trees that I want to set up. I probably haven't just read about this, since the child-domain approach is more common
Please help a fellow engineer out. I'd appreciate it!
