Hi all,

I need to create physically a home directory for a user (in AD) and
also create a share on the directory.
The most difficult is to set afterwards the rights on the directory
(NTFS) and on the share.

Has anyone done something like thaty and
would you like to share this with me please ? ;-)
I don't know how to do this ...

Any help would be very welcome !
Thanks,
Marc.

Hi Marc,

Assume you put user's home directory on serverA. You have to create a shared
folder on ServerA, let assume \\serverA\home.

Then, home directory on the user properties-->Profile-->Home folder
Fill in the Connect box : Z: ServerA\home\%username%
It will create subfolder on folder home automatically, and set the
permission on that subfolder so that only can be accessed by its own user.

There is another way using Group Policy. You can redirect My Document folder
to another server (not locally).
Follow these steps:
1. Open Group Policy Editor
2. Choose User Configuration
3. Choose Windows Settings-->Folder Redirection-->My Documents.

regards,
Irwin Utama
