I had a problem when we migrated one of our NT 4.0 Domains to a new 2000 AD
Child domain. The first attempt failed due to some rogue settings on the dc
that were missed. We rolled back to NT 4.0, but had to force the dcpromo. I
removed the information from sites and services and reran the upgrade after
fixing the settings. It appeared to run fine and the child domain is still
working well as a 2000 AD domain. It thinks it is a child of my root domain
and all. The problem lies with the parent domain. It doesn't have any
record of the child domain in the tree structure. It sees it as an external
domain. I need to make it realize that the domain is a child. How can I do
this with out trying to undo the upgrade since the child domain is
functioning?
