Assuming that you are still in WIN2000? Meaning, that you
did not upgrade to WIN20003? There is a known issue (
SMB Signing ) in WIN2003 that prevents WIN98 clients from
being able to log on.

So, if still in WIN2000 I might suggest that you install
the ADClient software on the WIN98 Clients. I have seen
this problem myself ( did not actually work on it as I had
some other issues - File Maker Pro phone sheets with the
Big Boss and CFO - at that particular moment. My
colleague did and installing the ADClient software
resolved the issue....

Be aware, I believe that there is an updated version out.
Have not looked into it because I do not have any clients
with WIN98 in an AD environment....I believe that the name
of the application is DSClient....not sure, though.

Try installin DS client extensions on Win98 machines. They are on server
CD-ROM.

I finally found the answer. The problem turned out to be
the fact that I had remote access connection manager
turned off on the machine. Turned it back on and
everything works

Thanks for the help.
