AD and NT 4 BDC

We are upgrading to Windows 2000 and active directory. However, we have one
issue we are concerned with. Our Exchange 5.5 server also runs as one of
the BDC's for our domain. When we go to native mode will this BDC cause any
problems with the domain? I know that group functionality will be limited
because of this.

Another question - can we upgrade the Exchange 5.5 server which is running
on NT 4 to Windows 2000? Are there any known issues with running 5.5 on
Windows 2000?

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

You cannot run native mode with a bdc running windows nt.
exchange 5.5. runs on windows 2000 but you need service pack =>3.
I do not know about upgrading bdc/exchange as 2k and them making ita
member server.
cheers

Upgrading the exchange (BDC) server to 2000 and then making it a member
server should be fine. Exchange 5.5 is mainly concerned with machine names
and domain names.
