about a month ago i started having problems downloading
updates from McAfee. Told me ActiveX needs to be
enabled. According to the settings it is. McAfee took
me trough detailed steps to correct. they were unable.
they refered me back to dell. Dell instructed the same
steps as mcafee. now we performed a system restore back
to april. Mcafee security center now starts, but the
downloading updates still comes back with ActiveX needs
to be enabled. I know this was working back in April.
They are now telling me to reinstall(refresh) XP and take
the registry back to square one. My concern is it worked
in april and the system restore didn't fix the problem.
What will a refresh do and how is going to effect(?) my
other software on the computer i.e. quickbooks, etc
