Folk:

I haven't been able to update these for 5-6 tries:

Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer for Windows XP (KB922760)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB920213)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB923980)
Security Update for Windows XP (KB924270).

I went through the validation / diagnostic process and got this:

Microsoft Genuine Advantage Diagnostic Results

Passed Active scripting allowed
Passed Display images enabled
Passed Computer time and date correct
Passed ActiveX enabled
Failed Microsoft ActiveX controls loading

I can't open any MS file download pages (such as those for individual
updates); I used to see the activex info bar in IE6 all the time, but no
more; activex is installed; I've been through all MS KB links and all site
links connected with the validation / diagnostic pages. I'm flummoxed: Hep
me!

Have you posted to the windows update newsgroup? That's were the WU experts
are concentrated.

Yup--but I know I can et an answer here...

The folks who post here that are expert in windows update spend most of
their time in the windows update site. It is the better resource for this
issue. If you are going to post to more than one group, crosspost, listing
both groups in the same message, rather than multi-posting.
