I am not ever getting an activex information bar and I used to. I am running
a windows xp with SP2. Also the pics on most web pages won't load and all I
have is the little blocks with the three shapes in them. These things both
used to work like a week ago and I need HELP!!!

See if this helps:
Right click the IE icon on the desktop.
Click Properties > Privacy tab.
In the Popup blocker pane make sure "Block pop-ups is checked".
Click the Settings Button and make sure "Show information bar...." is checked.
Click Close > Apply > Ok.

Hi amanda, for
<snip>

In IE, go to the Tools menu and select Internet Options.
Click on the Advanced tab.
Scroll down to the Multimedia section and make sure the box “Show Pictures†is
ticked.

With regard to the activex problem - there have been some problems after installing
KB896688. Have you installed this update?

There is a download that may assist:
OLEfix.zip available here http://patch-info.de/IE/Downloads/OLEfix.zip
NB, the origin is from MS Support and it is a registry file.
You Extract it, double click on the OLEfix.reg file. Click Yes when you are asked if
you are sure you want to add the information in the OLEfix.reg to the registry.
Suggest you reboot the computer.

Further information regarding this issue can be found here:

Bless you!

I have been dealing with this problem for more than a month. Without
ActiveX there was so much that did not work.

The site is password protected, it is part of my accountant's site. I will
speak to them on Monday. If I can find a way to send it to you, can you give
me a private email address, I don't want to broadcast my business to the
world?

Thanks for your help

Is your accountant's site trying to install an ActiveX control ? If you want
to send mail to me, then remove the string XOX. from my email address. In
the meantime see:

I have a ' fix' from my accountant that allows me to enter their web site by
entering a version of their site as a trusted site. So I don't have3 a
problemm with them any more.
However that doesn't fix my problem about the information bar not showing. I
would like to fix that problem, I am sure it will re-appear again. Do you
have any other suggestions?
Another problem I have is how do I "'remove the string xox from your email
email address" . I don't know the address or the xox string. But very willing
to learn.

I am now looking more closely to your website for information.
Thanks for your help
