Does anybody who uses EssentialPIM or another free Personal Information
Manager or a Contact manager know if any of them works alongside
activesync to synchronise with a smartphone ?

Hello,

ActiveSync can't synchronize using EPIM Free. For PPC synchronization
you have to buy Pro EPIM version.
