I'm wondering if anyone can help with this....

I'm attempting to log onto a website and get a "your
current security settings prohibit running Active X
controls on this page. as a result, the page may not
display correctly" window.

Have contacted Symantec(I have Norton AntiVirus loaded)
who advised that there are some reported cases of this
occurring after installion of the Microsoft Cumulative
Patch for Internet Explorer 6 (Q822925). They advised me
to uninstall the Microsoft Cumulative Patch for Internet
Explorer 6 and to contact Microsoft if this message
persisted.

Have uninstalled the patch but continue to get this
message when I attempt to get onto this web site. Can
anyone advise me how to change my internet options
settings in order that I can get rid of this message and
access the web page?

Many thanks

gaille;
WARNING: Sometimes if you have the ActiveX controls set wrong, a malicious web
site can do things you don't want. That said.
Try this: Open Internet Explorer/Tools/Internet Options/Security tab/Custom
Level button/ActiveX controls should be the first five listings/If you must change
them, change to Prompt/click OK/click Apply/click OK.
You can go back and change them the same way.
Hope this helps. Let us know.

I have been trying to figure this out as well. PLEASE
let me know if you find an answer. I have found at least
two other posts on this newsgroup asking the same
question, so you are not alone. I don't think it is the
patch, because I have not been able to download the patch
and my computer still does it.
