Active X Can't Run

Just started receiving notifications that Active X can't run due to Security
settings. Have always used (and now using ) default settings without any
previous problems. Have XP Home on recently new computer.
Is it best to leave that setting and click through the notification or have
I developed some other problem?
Appreciate advice.
