Active Movie Window

Hi! I'm trying to edit MPEG2 files with Windows Movie Maker. I d/l ffdshow
WMM managed to play the clips. However, the video keeps popping up in an
Active Movie Window and the video can't seem to be dropped into the timeline.
How do i avoid the Active Movie Window?

Under the compatibility, I don't have a DirectShow Subtitle Filter that I
can untick. So what should i do now?
