Active Directory

I have two separate networks running active directory.

There is a bidirectional trust between them.

From one of the networks I can connect to the other domain
and see its active directory.

I can not do the same from the other network. Any ideas?

Mike,

Are we talking about separate Forests? Do you have the
LMHOSTS File properly configured? This is usually a name
resolution error. What about DNS?

Or, are we talking about two separate Domain Trees in the
same Forest? There *should* not be any issues in this
case as the two trees are automagically set up to trust
each other.

Also, are we talking about two WIN2000 AD networks or are
we talking about a WINNT 4 Network and a WIN2000 AD
Network. I find that NETDOM is usually the best way to
create the Trusts in this case. NETDOM can be found in
the Support Tools. The Support Tools are located in two
places: in the WIN2000 Server CD in the Support | Tools
folder and in the WIN2000 Service Pack CD in the Support
| Tools folder.

HTH,

Cary

They are two separate forests. Both networks are Windows
2000 AD networks (Native). I believe DNS is correct. Is
there anyway to verify?

I have not done anything with the lmhosts file. Is this
neccessary as I thought that was for WINS based networks?

Thanks for the response.
