Active Directory not opening

The error messeage that comes up with I try to open the
Active Directory is
Naming Convention Could not be found
Server not opertional.

How can I fix this?

Have you got DNS configured properly? Is the problem machine pointing to a
DNS server on your LAN?

Take a look at your dns. Make sure that you are only pointing to 1 known
good dns server (not itself - for testing) and then see if that makes a
difference.
