Active Directory Connector

I am in the process of replacing our Windows 2000 PDC server with a newly configured BDC server. When this BDC is promoted to PDC, will it automativcally replicate the function of the Active Directory Connector for Exchange Server 2000? Or should I install now the Active Directory Connector, before I shut down the old PDC and promote the new BDC?

You have the terminology so mangled that it is difficult to guess
what you actually intend.

Win2000 doesn't have a "PDC server" -- it just has DCs, one
of which has the extra role of "PDC emulator".

There are NO "BDCs" running Win2000, but in mixed mode
you can have an NT 4 BDC so you statement implies you are
going to install an NT BDC -- which is possible but unlikely.
When this BDC is promoted to PDC,

We don't do this in Win2000 (even if you have a BDC or call
the Win2000 a DC.)

All Win2000 DCs are largely the same.

First clarify what you are doing. You might also do better asking the
Exchange specific part in the Exchange groups but we will try to help.
