how can I promote BDC to PDC in windows 2000 with active
directory running ?????

There is no PDC in Win2000, only a FSMO called "PDC emulator". A W2k
machine cannot act as BDC in AD.
Therefore: What are you talking about?

There is no BDC / PDC in a Windows 2000 Active Directory environment; the
DC's are all multi-master. However, you may be referring the PDC Emulator
which is one of the 5 FSMO roles. Search Windows 2000 Help for "FSMO"

do you mean to transfer the PDC emulator to another DC ?
