Activation problems

I couldn't seem to use the key code to activate my XP pro installation on a
new machine. Thinking that perhaps it was an SP issue, I downloaded and
installed SP2, but I still can't get it activated. I don't want to lose
everything else I've completed on this new machine. Would it work if I
partitioned the drive and installed the OS again, calling for help if need
be, and then dumping the original installation?

The installation of a Service Pack would not be the issue.
You'll need to activate by telephone.

How about telling us what happens when you try to activate it?

Have you activated it on another machine already?

Why didn't you do a phone call activation?
