My son had a copy of Windows Vista on his computer. He completely removed
Vista from his computer and as his father, I installed Vista on my computer.
I cannot activate it because it says the activation in use. Do I have to
purchase another copy of Vista or is there a way to activate this product?

Dad,
Parental use is not really a line item in Vista's EULA.
If the 'copy' of Vista is a retail version and not installed on any other
machine the installation/activation provided an option to activate by phone.
If the 'copy' is an OEM version it was only licensed for use on the original
machine(i.e. purchasing another copy is required).

Go through the activation process and use the telephone number instead
of the web. Explain what you've done and it shouldn't be a problem and
should take no more than 5 minutes.
