Activation on a new hard drive

Rob

I've just completed installing a new hard drive. I installed the new hard
drive to upgrade and eliminate my old one that has been faithful for a long
long time. :)

My new hard drive is a Maxtor 160gb, 7200 rpm, Ultra ATA/133 with 8mb cache.
The drive came with a Serial ATA Card. It's a Maxtor SATA/150 + Ultra
ATA/133 combo PCI card, which was no problem to install and setup the
drivers.

After installing the card and hooking up the new hard drive I used the
software that was included with the new hd., to clone my old hd. The new hd
boots up ok until its time to load the desktop icons. The background of the
desktop loads and my mouse cursor is there and moves about freely. After a
few moments a dialog pops up and says "Activation error 0X80090006". That is
as far as I can go. When I hook the new hd up as a slave and view the
contents, it appears all the folders and files are on the new drive.

Does anyone have an idea of what I need to do?

Many thanks in advance, Rob.
