I have a Dell Laptop Computer that came with the reinstall Windows XP disc.
Now I am trying to set up a docking station so that I can do homework at my
parents house with out having to drag all of my computer equipment with me.
It is telling me that the product code is in correct and re enter. I am
taking the Reg Prod Key right from the back of my laptop. Why wont it let me
activate? And if it is due to it being a docking station, can I have
Microsoft send me a XP disc for installation?

Dell is your OS support - it is an OEM copy.
You will need to contact Dell for support with your OS.

A lot of the serials on OEM computers are faulty, possibly deliberately so.

I think calling Dell will likely be an exercise in listening to muzak for
half an hour.

Call the MS activation number, enter a random activation code to get to the
stage where you can speak to a rep, and explain that you can't activate this
- presumably legit, I hope - computer.
