Activating slideshow

I know this is probably a simple one, but can someone please tell me how to activate the slideshow function for viewing photo albums
I have been to the help pages but dont know how to get the "Picture Tasks" tab open
My system has recently been corrupted and I had to reload XP from the start so dont have this function operating yet

Just wondering...if you open your 'My Pictures'
folder...what do you see in the left pane?

Thanks for getting back so quickly John
When I open My Pictures there is no left pane only the Pictures page showing the existing photo folders I have placed there

Try this...

Open your My Pictures folder...go to...Tools /
Folder Options / General tab...tick the...
"Show Common Tasks In Folders" radio button.
Also...after the change...be sure to left click...
Apply / OK.
