Or Acronis Support?

The plugin is available on the Acronis site - recommed you consider a joint
(True immage and Director Suite) boot CD.

Yes, their tech support tells me that - but for some reason, I can't
find it on their site. Please help me find it. Thank you.

Open True Image - click on "Help" in menu bar - click "Web support" - left
dialogue box click "Plug in for BartPE" -

Note last paragraph titled "Acronis True Image Plug in for Bart PE"
regarding requirement of having registered - click "log in" in last
sentence.

Cannot help at that point since your personal information is required.

Why would you need BartPE and the Acronis Plug In? If you are wanting
to restore a backup image, just make the bootable CD from the Tools /
Create Bootable Rescue Media menu. What am I missing?

The restore CD had been previously recommended to "Fruit2O" (Which by the
way is an excellent substitute for soft drinks).

BartPE provides a XP or Vista interface - utilites can be added to BartPE
for troubleshooting puposes other than restore - a menu choice is presented.
BartPE is an offshoot of WinPE (pre-environment OS) which replaced the use
of DOS in Vista.and also provides the repair function of Vista with options
of Repair, Sytem Restore, Command Prompt and others which at the moment I do
not recall.

WinPE was originally only available to Microsofr Enterprise customers (
BartPE at one time had a disclaimer regarding WinPE) and developers and now
is included with Vista and available with WIAK (Windows Automated
Installation Kit). WinPE can be "customized" with applications and
utilities - can be booted from a Ram Disk, CD/DVD and USB device.

I am told that True Image works MUCH faster in making backups using
BartPE.

OK, I now have BartPE as a plugin to True Image. I have a laptop with
only one CD-RW drive and want to use my original MS Windows XP Pro CD
with SP1 and SP2 as the source for thye files to create a bootable CD
with PE Builder. Please tell me what to put in the BartPE Builder
dialg boxes so I can create this bootable CD. I am more than a little
confused on this point. Do I have to create an ISO file and put it on
a blank CD? Thank you.
