Adobe reader 6 is a hog no matter what you do. Since I only wanted the
plain reader function, I selected the dial-up download, which omits some
of the excess functionality. You can figure out what plug-ins are likely
candidates for disabling by opening the reader and clicking on Help >
About Adobe Plug-ins. The resulting windows describes each plug-in and
its dependencies.
Plug-ins can be disabled by moving them from the Plug-ins folder to the
Optional folder. If you encounter a problem, it's easy enough to move
them back.
I currently have disabled:
PictureTasks (Folder)
Printme (Folder)
DigSig.api
PaperMetaData.api
PPKLite.api
printme.api
SendMail.api
Soap.api
Updater.api
XFA.api
