Acrobat Reader: select all

Acrobat Reader 4.0, cold boot each day. The functions below have worked in the past.

The other day, I opened a pdf file and in the toolbar, Select All was working, but
Continuous was greyed out.

Just now, I opened the same file, Continuous was fine, Select All was greyed out.

I'd like to select all- the entire document, then copy the text to a text file.

What's going on that the functions keep changing?

I've installed nothing in the past few days, so don't think Acrobat got corrupted.

Regardless Mike, it might be worth your time to reinstall it.
