Acrobat 9 Pro and Office 2007

I've just received Adobe Creative Suite 4 so that I can prepare the
new edition of my book in InDesign. (The latest version of FrameMaker
can finally handle Unicode -- but not right-to-left scripts or
OpenType, a.severe handicap when dealing with the world's writing
systems!)

With all the horror stories about the terrible things the Acrobat add-
in can do to Word, should I prevent it from installing it (or remove
it if I can't keep it out the first time), or have the
incompatibilities been fixed by now?

I would install it, then ensure it is updated to apply all the updates since
the application was produced. Acrobat 8 has caused no problems here
whatsoever. I can't see Version 9 being any different.

FWIW The main offender was the earliest version of Acrobat 7.

Updates! Hmm. For each of the four components individually ... more
hours ... thanks!

And it's taken over Reader's job of simply opening pdfs. That's
annoying! I have to go reset the "Always Open With."
