ACPI Causing DWWIN.EXE

Dear Sir/Madam:

"ACPI" ID-4 is responsible for my "DWWIN.EXE". Unfortunately, it is my HP
Color Laser Jet Printer.

The printer is non-functional until I get rid of the "ACPI" error. The only
way that I can find to correct the "ACPI" error is to contact my system
vendor for an updated BIOS.

Major problem--There is no updated BIOS available.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Assistance would be greatly appreciated!

Regards,

John

Please post a copy of the Error Report from Event Viewer or details of
the Stop message leading you to link your Colour Laser Jet print to a
problem with dwwin.exe.

What is your printer model?

I did not recieve this error until I installed my HP Color Laser Printer. I

I have an HP Color Laser Jet 3500. Also there are Source "ACPI" ID: 4 and
ID: 5 in the event viewer on shutdown.

After formating my drive, and re-installing all software, drivers, etc. all
was well; until I tried to install the HP 3500. Then the "DWWIN.EXE" errors
began at shutdown.

Thank you for helping.

Was an earlier version of Windows on your computer before Windows XP?

I had a problem with an HP printer and found that there were two
versions of the HP software. One for Windows 98 and one for Windows XP.
I uninstalled the software for Windows 98 and downloaded and installed
the software for Windows XP plus updated drivers.

You may have to live with the two Error Reports given that you cannot
update the BIOS. I have exactly the same issue on my computer and apart
from the recording of the Error Reports in the Log I cannot see any
problems linked to those reports.
