it downloads the update file of acer orbicam, but wont run the camera.

i tried to install the acer orbicam software for windows xp... which
installs all of it accepts the .inf problem, but cam wont work.

Has anybody tried to solve this problem.

Got the same issue, even on a higher vista build. perhaps you need to check with acer when the they will make the respective drivers available, which seems to be next year only.

Logitech just released a new set of software/drivers
(http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/downloads/software/DE/EN,CRID=1794,contentid=12354) for their quick cam product range.

Either I have been lucky or Logitech sneeked vista compatibility into their
software, for some reason my OrbiCam now works in Vista RTM. Btw, Vista RTM
does currently not ship the driver for this cam but via online update it
downloads the Acer XP drivers, 9.4.4.1041, which gets the camera going. Yet
to use the camera in Messenger or Skype you need to install the QuickCam
Software from Software out of the a.m. package.

It is certainly not the most versatile soltiuon, but gets the camera going
for the time being, until Acer releases the necessary drivers and software.

Last week I downloaded via Windows Update something called LOGICOOL software for my Logitech
QuickCam Pro 5000 camera.
The camera is now fully functional in both Vista x86 and Vista x64.

Zorro4141,
How did you "remove all files from your picture directory"? Do you mean from
your picture file on the computer? Remove them all?
Or is there a directory on your Orbicam program? I'm stumped, sorry.
