Accounts locking out for no apparent reason

Users accounts are being locked out for no apparent reason. This is not the
result of failed logons. You can just be working away normally and maybe
try to open a shared drive. The share will not open. When you look in
Active Directory you see the account is locked out. Sometimes when you come
in to work in the morning the account will be locked out. No one was even
in the office. Any ideas why this might happen?

I'm so embarrased. Should have thought of that first thing. I'm really a
novice at this. Thanks for not making fun of me for not thinking of this.

One more thing to check is scheduled tasks. If you have changed passwords
but not yet updated the scheduled tasks, these will try and run under old
credentials, thus hitting the threshold and locking the account.
