Accidentally Uninstalled the Wrong Drive (Need to Canel Pending Ev

I am having trouble with an external hard drive BUT I just accidentally /
stupidly uninstalled the wrong device / disk drive (using Device Manager) --
I accidentally selected the local/interal hard drive (i.e., Drive C.

I realized my error before rebooting "for changes to take effect" so now I
have to figure out how to cancel this pending operation.

Q: How does one cancel a pending (upon reboot) Device Manager device
uninstall????
