Accessories folder opens slowly

After I have used IE6, when I attempt to access "Accessories" using the
start menu the computer freezes with the hard-disk working, apparently
loading the Accessories menu. After about a minute the hard-disk activity
finishes and the Accessories menu opens up as normal. This happens every
time I access "Accessories" after using IE6. No other folder produces the
same pattern of freezing + hard-disk activity after using IE6. I am up to
date with all Windows Updates.
Any suggestions anyone?
(Windows XP home, IE6 + Office 2000).

Have never heard of this, is a bit interesting yet odd.

Without knowing what you have running in the background, try ending
iexplorer.exe via the Task Manager and then try accessing Accessories.
