I have xp pro and a shared directory on a win 2000 professiona, sp4
connected through a lan. The only way i seem to be able to access the
shares from the xp pro is to browse teh network neighborhood, find the
win 2k computer, click on it, at which point i get a login/password
pop up; enter a name/password and then "remember this login" (I dont
remember the exact wording). After that I can get to the shares but I
can also get to all other drives.

Is there a way that I can get to the shares on the win 2000 comptuer
without having to enter a user name/password? thanks

Create a user account on win 2000 that has the same user name and
password that you use to log into xp pro.
