accessing web application using no-ip.com

Hi,
I am having difficulty accessing my web application over the internet.
I dont have any problem when I connect using localhost. I have created
an account with no-ip.com. The web site is accessible thru port 6000.
Since my machine is behind a router, I am using port forwarding to
route everything on port 6000 to my machine.

http://localhost:6000 (this is on the local machine. this works fine)

http://URL:6000 (this is what i am using on a remote machine)
But when i try to access the web site online. I get the server not
found error. (I can ping the server though.) Am i missing something
here.
Appreciate any help in this matter

thanks

there are some missing and confusing informations on your query.

from what i understand, you are trying to access a site which is on your
local PC via some other PC and i also take it that you pinged the server
machine from your local PC and got it. am i right?
