I recently reinstalled my Windows XP software on my
computer. I used the same windows folder for this. My
problem is that now I get a message "access is denied"
when I try to open my my old file folder in documents and
settings in the c drive. I tried changing the properties
of folder but it would not let me. I just want to be able
to open all my old files, I have important stuff in
there. Please tell me what to do? I really need help here.

You simply need to take ownership of those folders and files. You can also
copy all of the previous users programs and settings to the new user
profile. The following articles will guide you.
