I have reinstalled windows,but kept previous files.

Due to a recent error that came up with a dell screen-something like 'NTLDR'
is missing, i had to re install windows, it gave me the option to keep my
previos files and i did, however it deleted my acount, and when i go into
c/documents and settings/(myacountname) it says Access is denyed-This is
really annoying as i have important files in this acount-is there a way i can
give it my old password to enter or something?
