Accessing Public folders in 2003 or 2007

Seems to me that Microsoft made a nice one click option for every function of outlook but the public folders. Is there a way to create an icon for that as well. I know that public folder favorites show up in their respective areas like Calendar or Contact public folders but what about the other types. Just wondering if there is a way to create that one button icon for Public folders. Otherwise I like that feature very much.

That's not possible.

That is unfortunate. I have a lot of users who think they don't have access
to public folders, when it turns out they just aren't looking in the right
place. I realize it is user error, and I have told them where to look but
for the non-technical user it always has to be in plain site.
Is this because public folders are not commonly accessed or used by a lot of
companies?

Probably. Microsoft has begun phasing out public folders. They will not be visible in OWA in Exchange 2007. And they will not be available at all in the version after that.
