Accessing Outlook after SP 2

I downloaded to CD SP2 .I have 4 machines.
After installing update all was well except for Accessing Outlook Express.
When I went to open Outlook ,a login in window opened .It had one name mine
in it.It asked for password??I never had outlook set up for a password.I
tried my windows password and ISP's Password .I could not open outlook.I had
to open a new account.
I uninstalled SP 2 and it was still there.I made a restore point before
installing SP 2. I restored and now it is back to normal.
Has anyone seen this or did I do something wrong??

I did a reinstall of SP 2 and all is well now.

Did exactly the same as the first time.
