Hi,

I have a XP Machine here that has encrypted documents and settings folders
.... every time I click I get a lovely (?!) message saying "X:\documents and
settings\owner is not accessible - Access is denied"...

Is there any way around this please?

Many thanks,

If the account is gone and youvdo not know the password and a strong key was usedm there is probably no hope. Go to dos and delete the files. They are useless

Did you encrypt the files or did a different user encrypt them? Do they show
up in green with Windows Explorer?
