I have a laptop running Win 98SE connected to the internet thru a
router on my desktop running XP Pro. I would like to access files on
one using the other, and I' ve configured the remote access features
of both as instructed, including naming the desktop, and allowing
access thru the firewall. However, when I try to access the desktop, I
keep getting an error message.

Am I missing something?

Thanks

Yes.
You missed giving us what error message you are getting. *grin*

Sorry. The message is "The Client could not connect to the remote
computer. Remote connections might not be enabled, or the computer
might be too busy to accept new connections. It is also possible that
network prolbems are preventing your connection."
