Accessing data in a subform

I have a form in access97 that contains a subform..I click a button on the
main form to launch a report tha needs data from the subform...however when I
attempt this I get a run-time error 2450 saying it cant find the form....is
there a different syntax when referring to data in a sub form?...thanks
