Hello!
I use a wireless scanner to enter Style no's in the Packing Slip. The
problem is, the scanner is not next to the computer, so when there is any
problem with a style the program will give the appropriate message, but the
user doesn't see the msgbox on the screen and keeps scanning. The scanner
gives the regular beep and the user doesn't realize that the entry stopped
because of the msgbox message.
Question,
1) Is there a way to give a different loud noise (not the docmd.beep), to
get the attention from the user?
2) Is there a way to send a different beep to the scanner?

Thanks in advance.
Abe

Is there a sample that i can see how to use the function?
Thanks Ben, you are a good man.

From your Form, or whatever:

fPlayStuff "C:\windows\Media\tada.wav",1

Should work just fine. There's another one solution somewhere which plays
MP3's but can't remember where I found it...

Anyway good luck, and glad to be of help - I've spent the past few days
abusing other's knowledge in the Exchange Server groups around the world so
felt like I should give a few back with my own specialist subject!

Ben.

Hi,

I have the same problem. I want to know if anyone out there knows how to
make the barcode scanner emit a different sound/beep instead of the pc doing
this.

Cheers
